About Us
Curriculum offer
The curriculum is strongly influenced by employers and universities, making education as relevant as possible for work. The learning experience will provide direct entry to employment and higher education opportunities on graduation from the UTC. It also helps to meet employers’ needs for high level skills and broadens the offer available to local communities.
There are different pathways available, so you can choose the route and range of subjects which best reflect your talents and supports your plans for the future. For 14-16 year olds, 60% of the time will be spent on general education and 40% on the specialisms.
Once you’re aged 16, this split reverses to 40% general education and 60% specialisms.
Support from university and employers
To give you every opportunity to succeed, you’ll have both a university and a business mentor who will work with you to help you to achieve. You can ask them for help and support in a range of topics, whether it’s help with your projects, your exam preparation or your future career plans. They’re here to help you succeed.
